DOL COMPUTERS DOWN AGAIN

In our news release we referred to the fact that the Department of Labor's computer system is back up and running.

Please take note, that we have just been informed by our Department of Labor liaison that the system is once again down. There will be a team of paradox computer professionals working on the U.S. DOL’s computer system for Region II.

We will do our best (as you can see the situation is quite fluid) to keep you up to date regarding this situation and how it will impact on labor certification applications and labor condition applications being processed by the U.S. Department of Labor for Region II.

Ms. DeHaan was uncertain as to when the system would become operational again, but indicated that this same team of paradox professionals had been effective in handling similar problems for region IX.

When the system is one again up and running, the U.S. DOL for region II will be working on LCA’s received in their office on Septembe 15, 1998.

Ms. DeHaan has also requested overtime staff to deal with the growing backlog being created as a result of this ongoing problem.
