CAN I FILE A I-130 FOR MY SON AND CAN I FILE FOR MY CITIZENSHIP YET?

         Question:

I have migrated to US as a green card holder and will be completing 30 months continuous stay tomorrow.
1. Can I now file for US citizenship OR I will have to wait until I have completed 5 years (60 months) of acquiring green card?
2. Can I now file I-131 to sponsor my married son OR I can only file it after I become citizen?

Answer: 

1. Naturalization can be filed only after 5 years as a permanent resident.
2. Cannot do an I 130 for your married son, till you are a US citizen.
