UPDATE: USCIS PUBLISHES NOTICE CONCERNING NEW H-1B ELECTRONIC REGISTRATION PROCESS IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER

USCIS, on January 09, 2020, formally announced the implementation of the new H1B registration system by publishing a notice of implementation in the Federal Register. According to USCIS, the initial H-1B petition registration period will begin on March 01, 2020, and USCIS “intends” to close the initial registration period on March 20, 2020, and will announce the actual end date of the registration period on their website (www.uscis.gov). Only the Petitioner selected in the initial selection process will be eligible to file an H-1B Cap subject petition. The Petitioner and their authorized representatives can register for the H-1B Cap using myUSCIS account (myaccount.uscis.gov). The USCIS accounts can be set up prior to the start of the registration period. A Petitioner or their authorized representatives must electronically submit a separate registration request naming each individual it seeks to petition for a cap-subject H-1B. Petitioners will be able to register multiple individuals in a single online session. The filer can prepare, edit and store the record in their account prior to final payment ($10 each registration) and submissions. Please note a Petitioner may only submit one registration per beneficiary in any fiscal year.

USCIS will notify all registrants with selected registrations through a notification that will be added in the online registration account, email and text message stating that an action has been added to their account. USCIS intends to notify registrants with selected registrations from the initial registration period no later than March 31, 2019. We will regularly update the Law Firms website as to any new updates concerning the new H-1B registration system.
