Issues with scheduling InfoPass appointments are likely caused by the new Pilot Program currently being rolled out by USCIS. Previously, InfoPass appointments were self-scheduled online through USCIS, and the new program, known as the “Information Services Modernization Program”, was announced on October 30, 2018. This program roll-out planned to eliminate self-scheduling of InfoPass, and would require appointments to be scheduled either through the USCIS Contact Center, or via an online form at my.uscis.gov/help/schedule.
While this rollout only affected a select few field offices at the time of the announcement, a wider implementation of the program is currently in effect and may be the cause of delays and difficulty in scheduling these appointments. All remaining offices will follow in the program roll-out by the end of the FY 2019.
