WHAT IF MOM’S NAME IS DIFFERENT ON MY AND MY SIBLINGS BIRTH CERTIFICATES?

         Question:

Hi, I am a US Citizen and I wanted to apply for my sister who is an Australian citizen. On our birth certificates, our mother’s name is spelled differently and I wanted to know if that would be an issue when applying. Also, how long is the immigration process for Australian citizens? Thanks!
Answer:

Was she born in Australia and if so then her process will have a 2 year advantage over an Indian born person. Country of passport doesn’t matter- the visa bulletin goes with the country of birth in prioritizing dates.

Your  mothers name cannot be different- a different spelling may be explained by secondary documents but suggestion would be correct one or the other.
