Question:
I am an international student and I have already completed a Masters degree(non-stem) and I am currently working on my (Non-stem one year)OPT.
I am planning for my second Masters (Stem), will I get OPT extension if I do not complete this 12 months OPT (My OPT started in Feb 2019).
Note: I have already applied for 1 year OPT.
Answer:
Beginning a full-time or degree-seeking program of study while on OPT is not allowed. A new I 20 would be required to transfer the SEVIS record and I 20 to another school or to reflect the new degree. Please confer with the international student advisor or the DSO for information about this.
