HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO STAY WITH EMPLOYER AFTER FILING I-485

Question: If my wife eventually goes back to her previous employer (FI) and get’s her I-485 filed with EAD, how long does she have to stay with the employer before being eligible to change jobs without needing any H1B sponsorship and without causing any issues for the Green Card application/interview?

Answer: 

The intent has to be bona-fide and I would say as long as possible. 180 days after the approval of the I-140 downgrade if that is being done is the minimum requirement. The USCIS can look at your intent and the company’s offer and can deny if they don’t trust the reason for going back to the employer.
