The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has introduced an Organizational Account system to streamline the H-1B petition process for employers. This enhanced platform allows companies to collaborate efficiently with their legal representatives, manage petitions digitally, and track submissions seamlessly.
If your company is looking to file H-1B petitions with the support of Ahluwalia Law Offices, follow this step-by-step guide to set up your USCIS Organizational Account correctly.
Step 1: Plan Your Company’s Account Structure
Before logging in, companies should plan their account structure. A Company Group will be created, and at least one Administrator must be designated. Here’s what you need to decide:
- Who will be the Administrator(s)? (Recommended: At least two administrators for backup)
- Who will be Members? (These are company employees who can assist with filings but cannot sign or submit forms)
- Will the company collaborate with a legal representative?
Important: Once a Company Group is created, it cannot be deleted or merged with another group.
Step 2: Create an Organizational Account on USCIS Website
- Go to my.uscis.gov
- Click Sign Up (if you do not have an account) or Log In (if you already have an H-1B registrant account)
- Select Organizational Account as your account type
- If you already have an H-1B registrant account, it will automatically upgrade to the new platform
Step 3: Set Up the Company Group
The designated Administrator should:
- Log in to the account
- Select Create Company Group
- Enter the company’s details:
- Company Name
- Doing Business As (DBA) Name (if applicable)
- Tax Identification Number
- Company Mailing Address
- Enter Administrator’s details (Name, Phone Number)
- Choose how to receive the One-Time PIN for login verification
- Click Create Company Group (This action is final and cannot be undone)
Step 4: Add Members to the Company Group
To add employees who will assist with the H-1B filing process:
- Go to Manage Company Group
- Click Add User
- Enter the Name and Email Address of the invitee
- Assign their role as either Administrator or Member
- Click Send Invitation
- The invitee must accept the invitation within 7 days
