SHOULD I FILE ANOTHER B1/B2 VISA EXTENSION DUE TO COVID-19 FOR MY PARENTS

Question:

With regards to my parents who are here on B1/B2 visa. They arrived here on 15 November 2019 and were scheduled to go back to India in April, but due to COVID-19 are stuck here in the states. Now I filed for I-539 around March 10, 2020 requesting extension until 31 September, 2020. Filed online and individually for both of them and got the receipt numbers soon after. Their Bio-metrics were scheduled for 25 March, 2020 and 29 March, 2020 but due to COVID-19 ASC offices were closed and bio-metric appointment did not happen. From there we have been following up but no news of bio-metric appointments anymore.
Ideally 6 months extension request should span from 15 May, 2020 to 15 November, 2020 (though I requested till 31st September, 2020), since we have not heard back, we are skeptical that what we should do? Should we file another extension? If yes, before 31 September or 15 November, for another 6 month extension?
Answer:

An extension cannot be filed past the time you asked for in your previous application. The second extensions are dicey and always will need prongs – 3 legal issues to be documented as exhibits. Ties to the home country, financial strength and reason for not leaving.
