The National Visa Center (NVC) is experiencing significant problems with payments, according to immigration attorneys. The majority of problems seem to be that after paying fees, the NVC sends notifications stating that the payment was not recognized by the recipient bank. The DOS Liaison Committee is aware of this problem and is getting ready to escalate it to the NVC in order to learn more about what might be the root cause and whether a remedy is on the horizon. The Committee urges members to submit the Public Inquiry Form to the NVC to record specific case issues. Case numbers, emails, screenshots, and evidence of funds taken from a bank account should all be included in reports. If instances are provided through the public inquiry form, it is more likely that NVC will escalate the situation and deal with it more promptly.
